The Woodcock called "ARANZADI" that was marked in Urdaibai at the end of February is currently sending us regular data on its position. It has already made a journey of 3.900 kilometers in a straight line to breeding areas in its migration. After having crossed Europe in just over a month, at this moment it is in the Northeast of Russia. The latest positions that the satellite is sending us are getting to 750 kilometers far away from Moscow, near the Ural Mountains.

The 22nd of March of 2013, "Aranzadi" left Urdaibai and after have done some stops in several countries of the centre of Europe, the 2nd of May it arrived at the surroundings of the Vyatka river, a remote area of the Russian taiga of the Kirov Oblast. "Aranzadi" is being detected in the outskirts of Vondanka, a place with few inhabitants of Russia. The positions that it is transmitting us show that during all these days, "Aranzadi" has been moving in a small area of less than 5 square kilometers, alternating forests and clearings.

Taking into account the dates in we are, it is probably that "Aranzadi" has already arrived to its breeding area, where it will remain until it have brought up its eggs.
