There was a lecture on the Osprey recovery project the 18th of April, that promotes the Regional Government of Bizkaia in the Biosphere Reserve of Urdaibai. A lot of people came to the lecture, they were interested in the project that will try the osprey to breed in this protected area in the next five years.

The person in charge of the project, Dr. Aitor Galarza, gave a talk in which he explained all type of details about the project that will begin this year with the arrival of the first nestling Ospreys to Urdaibai.

The Osprey is one of the most emblematic bird of prey of Europe and it has been one of the symbols of the conservation in European wetlands for decades, as it remained extinct in a big part of Central and Southern Europe, until the middle of the last century when began similar recovery projects to the one that will held in the Urdaibai Biosphere Reserve.
