The Urdaibai Bird Center-Aranzadi Society of Sciences is proud to announce the summer ringing campaign that will be carried out between August the 15th and September the 30th 2013. The sampling camp is situated in the upper marsh of the Urdaibai estuary, in the Urdaibai Biosphere Reserve. The target species to ring are marsh-associated passerines, mainly sedge warbler, reed warblers, bluethroats... It is also possible to capture some aquatic warblers. Apart from this, it will be also possible to participate in other ringing activities that will be also organized during these days, in particular ringing swallows in a post-breeding roost and waders at night.

We ask for expert ringers and trainers with already some experience on ringing as well. The stay periods will be of at least 15 days, and the work will consist on participating in all the activities associated with the ringing project, from 1 h before to 4 h after dawn and the ringing of swallows and waders some days in the afternoon. However, some afternoons are free-time, and they will constitute an excelent opportunity to visit the surroundings of the Center: prehistoric caves, magnificient marine cliffs, beaches, etc. The Center offers free accomodation for the volunteers. The rest of the costs (diet, travel costs) will not be assumed by the Center.
