ELCANO September 8th and 9th 2014.- In Arribes del Duero
Elcano likes starting his day early. He has started flying before down, towards the southwest, crossing Palencia and Valladolid. He has reached Zamora at 19:00. We haven't received all the points of the day to know his trajectory, but we know he has spent the night in a forest near Ricobayo reservoir. In 8 September, he left at about 6:00, and continuing in the same direction, he arrived at Arribes del Duero. This is a natural region where Duero and Agueda rivers have carved deep canyons in the plain. Nowadays this is a Natural Park where more than 200 bird species live, for example black stork and bird of prey like bonelli's eagle, egyptian vulture, golden eagle and griffon vulture.
