MALASPINA September 3rd, 2014. She has started her migration.

The young osprey Malaspina has already begun its migration to Africa. Firstly she has to cross the Iberian Peninsula from north to south and then fly over the Strait of Gibraltar and get to African lands. All this adventure will be followed every day as Malaspina has a transmitter and it will inform us about its exact position every hour, updating her migration route to Africa. ¿What lakes or reservoirs will visit? ¿What is going to be her wintering place? All these questions will be answered in the coming months by Malaspina's journal.
Malaspina arrived from the Scottish Highlands on July 11, with the rest of the ospreys from the project. Then she spent three weeks in an acclimation zone and finally she was released. During her stay in Urdaibai we had been following him closely, noting in detail where she used to eat, what was her favorite roosts or what perches were the most used.
