Celebrating 75 years of Aranzadi Society of Sciences!

The Urdaibai Bird Center team were present today at an act of great importance in Donosti. Many people from the scientific world came together to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Aranzadi Society of Sciences.

Iñigo Urkullu, The Lehendakari (President of the Basque Government) and a number of ministers also attended the event at the Aranzadi headquarters.

Founded in 1947, Aranzadi's main objectives are scientific research into nature and the humantities and the dissemination of the results obtained.

Aranzadi is also involved in ornitholgical projects, which address different aspects of the biology, ecology and conservation of birds. In addition, the internationally renowned Aranzadi Ringing Office, manages the banding and tracking of 200,000 birds annually.

For theUrdaibai Bird Center Team it was an honour to be part of Aranzadi´s 75th Anniversary.

The message for today´s event was ''There is no future without science, nor past without memory. 

Congratulations Aranzadi! Here´s to many more years of research and dissemination!
