We have a great chance to observe Stilts breeding in front of us. This is a species which breeds on the ground, adding few herbs for the incubation of eggs. In this case it is incubating in a small island where is trying to camouflage among several reeds. Throughout these days and until chickens are born you can enjoy from 12:00 to 12:30 every day live broadcast of how difficult it is for these waders move forward with their chicks. Threats will come from the air... Gulls, Black Kites, Marsh Harriers... and from the water with some American Minks, invasive species that are doing so much damage to our ecosystems. Look at the White point in the right of the reed, that is the head of the Stilt. Live camera: : http://goo.gl/cNDW2Y And have a Little patience... this is live nature! |
