Since "Urdaibai" left Dakar 1st of November and she arrived to the coast of Senegal between Ponto and Mbodiene, our osprey has been faithful to this place for more than six months and she only has left it once in order to make a tour towards Gambia and Guinea Bissau in the end of March where she returned after 5 days.
The jetty that Urdaibai uses as perch A baobab close to the coast where she spends the night We have recently received good news from a French citizen that during his holydays along the Senegalese coast, could take photos of an osprey and after have got in touch with us and send us some photos, we could affirm that she was Urdaibai. A photo taken by Jeans-Jaques Guitard in the lake of Mbodiène on the south of Mbour (Senegal) Today, Urdaibai continues with her daily routine. Early in the morning, she used to visit the jetty of the hotel, that she uses as perch to fish and then she spends much of the day in the lakes and marshes that are dry in this season. To finish the day, she used to go close to the three baobabs that are near the marshes and where she will spent the night. |
