Something exceptional has occurred, Brinzal one of the ospreys that were realeased in the month of July this year in Urdaibai, has been detected for several days nearby the school which who Montorre and Urretxindorra schools are sharing a project in Gambia.  In this case, the Scotland-Urdaibai-Gambia conection has  been a real success, allowing a better relationship between different schools. This osprey has been established in the sourroundings of the Town of Tenbala whitch is the home of Junkung Jadama, the coordinator of the project in Gambia.

Montorre and Urretxindorra schools finally have been able to close the particular circle which will keep unified thanks to the transcontinental migration of the osprey, schools of Scotland, Urdaibai and Gambia. The project "Ospreys migration linking comunities" where schools of Urretxindorra (Muxika) and Montorre (Gautegiz Arteaga) are trying to unify different schools in all over the world linked by osprey´s migration.

This project is coordinated by "the Osprey Migration foundation" in Rutland Water (England).  It´s about bringing  different parts of the world through the bond of the migratory route, followed by Ospreys in their migrations. At the moment, the two before mentioned Urdaibai schools are working together with the Logie Primary School (Scotland ) and Lower school Tanji ( Gambia ) sharing experiences and giving to know each other their culture , natural heritage and educational experiences. In this case the Ospreys are the vehicle through which students from different parts of the world engage in a relationship that will promote awareness of different social, cultural , ecological and educational realities.

Brinzal is a female born in the small town of Lairg, located in the center Shuterland County , in The Highlands. The town is located on the southeast end of Loch Shin , the largest in the area.  This bird was extracted from the nest on July 5 and when he reached Urdaibai weighed 1400 g . He placed a ring of yellow PVC for remote identification with the P4 code. In order to track the movements of the Osprey can enter the following URL :
