A small group of 4 Brent geese coming from The  Northern Europe where they breed in coastal tundra zones, is offering us the opportunity to enjoy their presence.

This beautiful anatid is rare in our wetlands and it stands out of among others of the family of the anatids for its large size and its dark tonalities.

During the low tide, they come to their favorite feeding places, as marshland muds with presence of Zostera noltii, a water plant adapted to salty waters that is discovered only during the low tide.

Although the presence of the Brent geese (Branta bernicla) is small, its regular during the winter, always frequenting the same areas of the marsh which indicates the ecological importance of these rare and unknown aquatic plants for many northern birds who decide to spend the winter in our marshes.
