In the last few weeks raindrops and spoonbills have filled the skies over the Urdaibi Bird Center. The seasons are changing and as we humans are getting out our jumpers and coats, the birds are winging their way south to warmer climes. Migration is in full swing!

To mark this wonderful natural phenomenon, we will be celebrating World Migratory Bird Day on October 13th. The theme for this year is Bugs for Birds. Insects are a vital food source for birds and have a great influence on the success of the breeding process and the bird's ability to complete their migratory journeys.

We have two different events planned to celebrate the day. From 10 to 12:00. we will be holding a scientific ringing demonstration which will be available for all visitors. You do not have to sign up for this session.
