Here at the Urdaibai Bird Center we were extremely privileged to be part of Sounding Wild´s journey. Axel and Ario spent three weeks with us exploring Urdaibai, recording sounds and making images at all times of day and night. They recorded the song of the reed warbler and were even able to film it! That is a difficult feat indeed! They also followed the life a black woodpecker and its young. With patience and passion, they got to know the heart of Urdaibai.

After weeks of hard work and early mornings, Axel and Ario were ready. The  material they had gathered became part of an installation which visitors to the Urdaibai Bird Center could experience. Sat in the midst of ten loud speakers and equipped with VR headset our visitors embarked on an immersive virtual reality and spatial audio journey through the Urdaibai Biosphere. They were wrapped in birdsong and beautiful images floated before their eyes.
