Nature never ceases to amaze us.

The fact that ospreys are breeding in Urdaibai is in itself amazing and of great significance. To this is added another incredible factor. Normally young females lay 2 eggs. Landa, who is just 3 years old, has produced 3 eggs, which is very unusual.

As if all this were not enough, there is another surprise; the third egg, which hatched last night, revealed a very different looking chick. The new addition to the osprey family is an albino

We should all be aware that this little albino chick is not going to have an easy time surviving. From the Urdaibai Bird Center we would like to say that the only thing we can do is let nature take its course.

We all can follow the incredible development of the osprey family and the albino chick from home. Never before has anything like it has been shown live.
