Sessions for the presentation of the Monna project, Nature and Bird Monitoring

On the December 14-15th weekend, Urdaibai Bird Center will organize the Sessions for the presentation of the Monna project for the Monitoring of Nature and Birds sponsored by the Program of Territorial Cooperation 2007-2013 (POCTEFA) of the European Union.

For this reason, the guided and selfguided visits will be direct to the explanation of this project to the public. On the guided visits, the technicians will resume the project until this moment and the results that will be obtained once it finishes and on the selfguided ones, the visitors will know it through explanatory audiovisuals and posters dedicated to the Monna project.

Monna project plans to launch Europe into global leadership in technology for the monitoring of nature as a means for effective public policies on environmental management and biodiversity. It combines technological development for the analysis of bird migrations through European-based emerging technologies in the field of geo-localization with the creation of a living-lab to launch an emerging economic sector, monitoring of nature.

To do this, one of the specific objectives is to develop several devices that let to know the movements of the birds, as well as, a multi-media and multi-device platform for handling and displaying geo referenced data to the diferent public, researchers, amateur ornithologist and general public that can enjoy this as a touristic resource..

This project conbines a consortium of companies composed by: GAIA (is the Association of Electronic and Information Technologies in the Basque Country), Aranzadi Society of Sciences (Urdaibai Bird Center), Vicomtech (Visual Interaction & Communication Technologies), AGUILA Technologie (Akitania), Estia (Ecole Supérieure des Technologies Industrielles Avancés de Bayonne (Akitania)
