Eitb Eguraldia: Report about the weather balloons from Urdaibai Bird Center

This week, Eitb eguraldia (Basque TV’s weather forecast program) has broadcasted a report about the Radiosonde station that Euskalmet, the Basque Meteorological Agency, has in the facilities of Urdaibai Bird Center.

 
 
With the objective of a better knowledge of the meteorological situation on the upper layers of the atmosphere, a sounding balloon is released everyday and during its rise, it records different parameters as temperature, humidity and pressure at every altitude.
 
 
The knowledge of the situation of the highest layer of the troposphere is directly related to the elaboration of the meteorological models that are used for the development of the known forecast that interest so much to the society.
