The first migrating Eurasian Spoonbills arrived yesterday to Urdaibai

Yesterday the first two Eurasian Spoonbills (Platalea leucorodia) arrived at the marshes of Gautegiz Arteaga. They came with some groups of Grey Herons (Ardea cinerea) and Little Egrets (Egretta garzetta) and there, they found a great amount and diversity of waders. These two specimens of Eurasian Spoobills rested during the most part of the day, because they can consider these marshes an important stop-over where they can recover the strength and energy enough for travelling across the Iberian peninsula until the coast of Mauritania or the delta of Senegal.
