During this week, Urdaibai Bird Center has given two talks in two schools that are collaborating together on a Osprey project. The two centers, Urretxindorra Eskola in Muxika and Montorre Eskola in Gautegiz Arteaga, have been collaborating for many years with Urdaibai Bird Center, within different projects of environmental education related with bird studies and their close surroundings.
The talks that were directed to both teacher an students, were about the history of this curious raptor that was extinct for decades in many European countries that since some years is reemerging thanks to the different projects of reintroduction realized in the European continent.
In the current context, this schools are cooperating in a project that is leaded by some English ornithologists who are trying to make a connection between schools that are located in different sites of the migratory rout of the Osprey in the Paleartic region, sharing through this migratory connection, cultural, linguistic and ecological experiences.
