Ospreys often use power lines to settle out in the landscape with lack of trees. Unfortunately this is a high-risk behavior, since many of these towers are not designed to prevent electrocution of birds. In fact, at least two of the released Ospreys in Urdaibai in the context of the project to restore the Osprey have died by electrocution, one in Durango (Bizkaia) and another in Iregua (La Rioja).

Fortunately Mandela continued their journey without incident reaching the coast of Mazagon to go flying over the city of Cadiz. On the 8th September Mandela sleeps in a turret of electricity located in the middle of a field of wind turbines in Tarifa.

The next morning at 7:00 Mandela is flying over the Gulf of Cadiz to a height of 60 m. Mandela is in Africa in the area of Tangier and make a stop along the river Mharhar where rests to overcome the effort of crossing the Strait. Mandela continued his journey and, after about 400km, at dusk decides to stop sleeping in an olive grove in the north of Marrakech.
